About CVA
Mission
It is the mission of the Chariton Valley Association to empower people with disabilities to achieve their highest level of independence through high quality and diverse support services.
Philosophy
Achievement of the mission of the Chariton Valley Association requires the creation of an environment of love, respect, support, and safety for the persons participating in the various programs. Persons participating in Chariton Valley Association programs are assured the same rights and quality of life as people without disabilities. As much as possible, the participant, and the participant’s family/guardian if a minor, should have control over the supports provided by this organization. Participants will have the opportunity to have typical, age appropriate life experiences within their home and community, and in a manner, which maintains the dignity and respect of the participants.
Vision
Goals
To promote a normalized lifestyle in a manner where individuals are valued, fully participating citizens within their communities. To foster continuing involvement and interest of families and friends of persons participating in all organizational programs.
To challenge each individual supported in organizational programs to expand upon their current capacities and seek their highest level of performance.
To expand existing programs and to develop new programs to support changing populations.
To recognize the limitations of the organization in supporting people with disabilities, and be willing to refer persons in obtaining other services when it is clear that the individual no longer benefits from the programs provided.
